Cardano Governance Crisis Erupts Amid Blockchain Milestone

Cardano's blockchain has reached a major milestone, surpassing 121 million transactions. However, a governance crisis has emerged as an 81% active stake majority opposes a 32.9 million ADA proposal to fund Input Output Global's core research team for another year.

The opposition to the proposal is led primarily by Japanese delegated representatives who argue that it lacks tight, auditable milestones. If the proposal fails, it could leave the Ouroboros consensus protocol without its primary academic development engine.
