FocusAI Pursues Flybit Acquisition in South Korea's Consolidating Crypto Market

South Korea's cryptocurrency market has been witnessing significant consolidation in recent times, driven by stringent regulations and banking requirements.

Focusing on this trend, FocusAI, the largest shareholder of the Busan Digital Asset Exchange (BIDAN), is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Flybit, a South Korean crypto exchange that withdrew from the won-denominated market after failing to secure a real-name bank account partnership.

The acquisition would allow FocusAI to bypass the lengthy and complex registration process for new exchanges and provide a ready-made operational framework, including compliance infrastructure and a user base.
