Tether Unveils Self-Custodial Wallet with Direct Access to Digital Assets
Tether has rolled out tether.wallet, a fully self-custodial digital wallet designed to provide direct access to major digital assets.
The wallet supports Bitcoin on-chain and via the Lightning Network, as well as stablecoins and gold tokens. It operates across multiple networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum.
The platform's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, stated that the objective is to remove complexity and make digital infrastructure more accessible to end-users while preserving its value.
The wallet removes traditional blockchain friction by allowing users to send funds using simple identifiers instead of long wallet addresses. It also enables fee payments on the transferred asset itself.
