ARK Invest Predicts $28 Trillion Cryptocurrency Market by 2030

ARK Invest, a prominent investment firm led by Cathie Wood, has released a bullish forecast for the cryptocurrency market's growth. According to their projections, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization could reach $28 trillion by 2030.

This would represent a nearly tenfold expansion from the current market size of over $2.7 trillion. The firm predicts that bitcoin will play a central role in this growth, with its price increasing by approximately 63% per annum on average over the next five years. This assumes that bitcoin becomes a corporate treasury reserve asset and that institutional adoption continues to expand.

ARK Invest also expects smart-contract networks to experience significant growth, with their market capitalization potentially rising by 54% annually through 2030 to around $6 trillion. The firm anticipates annualized revenue of approximately $192 billion in this scenario, with an average fee rate of about 0.75%. Additionally, they believe that two to three layer-1 smart-contract platforms may dominate the market.

The forecast is based on various factors, including institutional inflows and regulatory clarity in major markets. The firm points out that listed companies and institutions already hold a significant amount of bitcoin, with over 6% of the circulating supply tied up on corporate balance sheets. This trend is expected to continue, driving the growth of the cryptocurrency market.
