A dormant Bitcoin address that had remained inactive for over 11 years has finally transferred funds. According to ChainCatcher, Galaxy Research reported that a Bitcoin address which had been idle since October 15, 2014, made a transfer in the early morning hours on August 6, 2025, in block 953816. The amount transferred was a significant 100.5 BTC, valued at approximately $6.59 million.

This transfer marks the end of a long period of dormancy for this particular Bitcoin address. It is unclear what prompted the sudden movement of funds after such a prolonged period of inactivity.

The value of the transferred Bitcoins has increased significantly since their last known activity in 2014, reflecting the volatility and growth of the cryptocurrency market over time.
