Balancer Hacker Resumes Activity, Converts Stolen Funds to BTC
A hacker who perpetrated a significant heist on cryptocurrency platform Balancer last year has reactivated their account, raising concerns about potential further unauthorized transactions.
According to monitoring by Lookonchain, the attacker had remained inactive for five months following the initial breach. However, they have recently resumed activity, initiating a transaction involving 1,100 ETH (approximately $2.55 million) through THORChain, which facilitates cross-chain exchanges.
The transferred Ethereum is currently being converted into Bitcoin, marking another step in the hacker's apparent money laundering efforts.
