Ripple CEO Accuses JPMorgan's Dimon of Distorting Facts on CLARITY Act
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has accused JPMorgan Chase's Jamie Dimon of twisting facts regarding the proposed CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at regulating cryptocurrencies.
The CLARITY Act features over 1,600 specific references to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering standards, according to its proponents. The Senate Banking Committee has advanced the bill.
Dimon has criticized the aggressive lobbying strategy of Coinbase's CEO Brian Armstrong, stating that the exchange is spending too much on politics.
Garlinghouse responded by saying Dimon is misrepresenting the facts about the CLARITY Act, which he believes will actually provide greater clarity and transparency for cryptocurrencies.
