DV8 Acquires Licensed Digital Asset Custody Firm Rakkar Digital

Thailand-listed DV8 has taken a significant step towards expanding its presence in the digital asset space. The company has signed an agreement to acquire Rakkar Digital, a licensed digital-asset custody firm.

The acquisition is valued at up to 100 million baht and will enable DV8 to accelerate its plan to accumulate 1,000 BTC in 2026 and build a total of 10,000 BTC by 2028. This strategic move has been facilitated by the recent growth of Southeast Asia's crypto market, with on-chain transaction volume rising 69% year-on-year as of mid-2025.

The deal is seen as a first for Southeast Asia-listed companies directly acquiring licensed digital-asset custody firms. Rakkar Digital, a joint venture between SCBX and Fireblocks, has approximately $700 million in assets under its custody.
