Cardano Governance Dispute Escalates as Cyber Capital Founder Calls for Hoskinson's Removal

A heated dispute has erupted in the Cardano community over governance and scalability issues. Cyber Capital founder Justin Bons called for Charles Hoskinson's removal as Cardano founder, citing concerns over leadership and network performance.

The controversy began when Hoskinson proposed shifting governance discussions from social media platform X to a Discord server managed by moderators. Bons opposed this move, viewing it as censorship that would allow unfavorable discussions to be suppressed. He argued that this undermines the decentralized ethos of the blockchain.

Bons also criticized Cardano for failing to meet its scalability goals, pointing out that the network's maximum throughput in 2026 will only be around 23 transactions per second (TPS). This is significantly lower than competing blockchains like Solana or Ethereum's layer-2 solutions, which process thousands of TPS.
