Bitfarms Rebrands as Keel Infrastructure, Shifts Focus to AI

Canadian mining company Bitfarms is embarking on a strategic pivot towards artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, marking a significant shift in its business focus. As part of this transformation, the company plans to rebrand as Keel Infrastructure, with the new parent company headquartered in New York.

The decision was previously approved by a shareholders' meeting and is expected to be completed on April 1. The company will continue to trade on Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker KEEL, which will replace the current BITF designation.

Bitfarms has been gradually winding down its cryptocurrency mining operations since November 2025, with a focus on developing AI infrastructure. As of March 27, the company held bitcoin valued at $161 million or approximately 2400 BTC. The proceeds from the sale of these assets will be invested in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The company's energy portfolio includes 2.2 GW of capacity in North America, with operational projects, guaranteed supplies, and development stages across various phases. In its annual financial report conference call, Bitfarms CEO Ben Gagnon stated that the company intends to 'take advantage of favorable market opportunities' to sell its bitcoins.
