Crypto Bootcamp Community Report Highlights Africa's Growing Bitcoin Adoption

Africa's grassroots blockchain and cryptocurrency education network, Crypto Bootcamp Community, has released a comprehensive report on their Bitcoin Pizza Day celebrations. Over the past four years, the initiative has expanded from 18 cities across four countries to over 40 cities across 16 nations.

The report highlights that the programme was built on the conviction that Africa should be celebrating Bitcoin's utility as money, given its potential benefits for people outside the formal banking system. The network's founder, Obinna Iwuno, personally financed a significant portion of the costs, including liquidating his personal Bitcoin holdings to fund the inaugural 2022 edition.

The report also notes that the programme has successfully transitioned into a fully self-sustaining model, with independent communities across Africa, the Middle East, and North America organizing their own annual events without direct coordination from the central body. The network is now shifting its focus towards blockchain economic integration infrastructure, including advanced technical education and policy engagement.
