Ripple Invests in Flutterwave to Boost African Payments with Stablecoins

Flutterwave has secured investment from Ripple as part of its Series E funding round. The move aims to enhance Flutterwave's stablecoin-powered payment infrastructure and integrate Ripple's blockchain technology, including RLUSD stablecoin, Ripple Payments, and XRP Ledger. This partnership will enable faster settlements, better liquidity, and lower transaction costs for cross-border payments across Africa.

Flutterwave's strategy includes linking digital assets with traditional finance, supported by its Nigerian banking license and the acquisition of Mono for improved financial data and compliance capabilities.

The investment will boost Flutterwave's valuation to $3.2 billion and enable it to reach more merchants in 34 African countries.
