Kyobo Life Tests Won Stablecoin System for Premium Payments and Claim Payouts

Kyobo Life Insurance has successfully tested its Korean won stablecoin system for premium payments and claim payouts. The company partnered with blockchain infrastructure firm EQBR to link a blockchain network with existing insurance operations systems.

The test showed customers using Korean won stablecoins held in digital wallets to pay insurance premiums automatically, with transaction data reflected in Kyobo Life's internal systems in real time.

Kyobo Life expects the system to improve efficiency and transparency once related laws and regulations are in place. The company plans further verification to expand the technology's potential use in insurance services.
