China Report Alleges US Seized $30 Billion in Crypto Assets
The recent report from China's National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center has sparked controversy over the alleged seizure of cryptocurrency assets by the US government. According to the report, the US has confiscated over $30 billion in crypto assets between 2022 and 2025, with nearly $20 billion tied to cases involving Chen Zhi and Changpeng Zhao.
The report attributes this figure to the US's technological dominance in the field of cryptocurrency regulation. However, some experts have questioned the accuracy of these claims, citing a lack of concrete evidence to support them.
Separately, the report highlights a significant increase in the usage of Chinese AI models, with models like MiniMax's M2.5 and Kimi K2.5 leading the charge. According to data from OpenRouter, Chinese AI models have surpassed their US counterparts in terms of weekly usage, reaching 5.16 trillion tokens compared to 2.7 trillion for US models.
The report also notes that several major smartphone manufacturers are planning to raise product prices due to a significant increase in storage chip costs, which have risen by over 80% year-on-year.
