Coinbase Secures MiCA License, Boosting European Expansion
Coinbase has secured its MiCA license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, allowing it to operate across all 27 EU member states. This licensing is a crucial step for Coinbase in enhancing its regulatory compliance and broadening its service offerings in the EU market.
The approval enables Coinbase to provide regulated crypto services across the entire EU region. According to Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the exchange now offers unified global liquidity across spot and derivatives through its Advanced Trade product.
One of the key benefits of this new license is that it allows Coinbase to offer a 5% transfer bonus to users, which could attract more customers to the platform. This move comes as the crypto market shows mixed signals, highlighting Coinbase's competitive edge in a challenging environment.
