UK Ex-Con Turned Crypto Millionaire Builds Farm in Spain

Lucas Ruiz, a 30-year-old man from Newport, has turned his life around after investing in cryptocurrency. In an interview with WalesOnline, he explained how a 'lucky' investment multiplied his funds in 2024, allowing him to purchase a piece of land in Spain last year.

Ruiz grew up on a council estate and struggled with addiction and crime as a young man. After serving three years in prison for selling drugs at age 19, he found it difficult to rebuild his life in the UK due to low-paying jobs and rising rent costs.

The turning point came when Ruiz invested £5,000 in cryptocurrency before Trump's election in 2024. When he woke up, his funds had increased to £55,000, allowing him to buy a piece of land near the Portugal border for £5,000.

Ruiz is now working to transform the land into a small farm that will provide affordable produce to the local community. He hopes to keep chickens and ducks on the land, but not for meat production. Instead, he wants to focus on growing vegetables and providing fresh eggs to nearby residents and businesses.
