Crypto Billionaires Back Libertarian Micronation with Tax-Free 'Vote-Buying' Token
Liberland, a micronation on the Danube River between Serbia and Croatia, has attracted some of the world's wealthiest men in crypto. The country was founded by Vít Jedlička with the goal of creating a truly libertarian digital nation that runs on cryptocurrency technology.
President Jedlička explained to me how Liberland's citizens can gain more say in the leadership through a purchasable crypto token called Liberland Merits, effectively allowing people to vote directly with their money. The country is also entirely tax-free.
Liberland has attracted tech billionaires like Justin Sun, who invested over $75m in World Liberty Financial, the Trump family's own crypto business. Sun also co-founded Tron, a blockchain platform that has been linked to illicit transactions, including those tied to Hamas and Hezbollah.
