Polish Crypto Exchange Under Control of Russian Mafia Exposed

The Polish cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto has been under the control of the Tambov crime syndicate, one of Russia's largest organized crime groups. According to Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW), the Russian mobsters acquired a controlling stake in the exchange in 2018 through a Polish intermediary.

The shares were officially purchased by three companies registered in the UAE, but the deal was financed by the Tambov gang, who paid 'tens of millions of euros' on two occasions. The ABW believes that the Russian gang has maintained control over Zondacrypto ever since.
