Kraken Delays IPO Amid Challenging Market Conditions
Kraken, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has indefinitely delayed its initial public offering (IPO) due to challenging market conditions. According to reports from CoinDesk, citing informed sources, Kraken is still considering a public offering but not until the sector stabilizes.
The IPO was expected to take place in the first quarter of 2026, with Kraken having submitted a confidential filing to the SEC. However, the exchange's plans were put on hold as market conditions became increasingly challenging.
Kraken had raised $500 million in September 2025 and secured an additional $800 million in November, bringing its capitalization to over $20 billion. The company's valuation reached $15 billion after its initial funding round.
