NYSE LIFTS POS LIMITS ON CRYPTO ETF OPTIONS

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has made a significant move by lifting position limits on cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) options. This change, which affects both NYSE Arca and NYSE American exchanges, removes restrictions on trading for 11 spot bitcoin and ethereum ETFs.

With this adjustment, these crypto ETFs will be able to conduct Flexible Exchange (FLEX) options trading, allowing for increased flexibility in hedging, arbitrage, and structured products. The position limits for these options can now be raised above 250,000 contracts depending on liquidity, bringing them in line with other commodity ETF options.

This change is expected to promote the integration of crypto assets into the mainstream financial system, allowing institutions to more easily incorporate cryptocurrencies into their investment strategies. By lifting position limits, the NYSE is providing a more level playing field for institutional traders and investors.
