Cryptocurrency Markets Surge Amid US-Iran Ceasefire Agreement
Markets around the world responded positively to the news of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.
The sudden change in diplomatic relations triggered a significant surge in cryptocurrency prices, with Bitcoin experiencing one of its most substantial price increases in recent history. The digital asset rose to approximately $72,700 after the announcement, resulting in considerable losses for bearish traders who had taken out short positions.
According to reports, nearly $595 million in liquidations occurred within a 24-hour period, with Bitcoin dominating the figures at around $245 million. Ether and oil-related positions also suffered substantial losses, totaling approximately $126 million and $75 million respectively.
