Rakuten Wallet Unveils Physical Shiba Inu Coin for Retail Ecosystem
Rakuten Wallet has produced a physical Shiba Inu coin as part of its collectible 'Real Coin' series. The fifth edition in the series, it is a metal souvenir and not a token linked to a blockchain or means of payment. Rakuten Wallet applied a sandblast process for the first time, delivering a premium matte texture and distinctive feel.
The company received 100 percent positive feedback from internal tests and plans to use the coin in live presentations and offline events. A large-scale giveaway campaign is also underway.
Rakuten's decision to feature SHIB reflects existing service linkages, including allowing users to convert Rakuten Points into SHIB this spring. This enables converted SHIB to be linked to a structure usable at 5,000,000 retail locations across Japan through the Rakuten Pay payment network.
