USD1 Stablecoin Hits Market, Pegged to One US Dollar
USD1 is a stablecoin that aims to maintain a fixed value of one US dollar. It was launched by World Liberty Financial in March 2025, with backing from US Treasuries, dollar deposits, and cash equivalents.
The coin started trading on Ethereum and BNB Chain in May 2025, with other networks planned later. By July 1, 2026, USD1 had a market value of around $4.4 billion, with a price close to $0.999.
USD1 is an example of a fiat-backed token, which claims value because the issuer holds assets behind it. The reserves held by World Liberty Financial include US Treasuries and cash equivalents, supporting redemption and turning the token back into dollars.
Crypto markets run every day, and users need a way to hold dollar value without leaving blockchain systems. Traders use dollar tokens between positions, and firms can use them to settle payments.
