John Jay College Student Lands Full-Time Research Role after Internship

Cailyn MacLellan '26 has made significant strides in her academic and professional journey at John Jay College. The undergraduate student has successfully transitioned from a cryptocurrency internship to a full-time research role at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS).

MacLellan's experience at ARLIS began with an internship, where she developed a framework to analyze money laundering schemes using cryptocurrency. She also worked on due diligence and market research as part of her internship at Propel Capital. These opportunities reinforced her interest in analytics and financial forensics.

The new full-time role at ARLIS involves examining emerging technologies and flagging potential challenges ahead. MacLellan's background in fraud examination will be crucial to this project, which aligns with her long-term career aspirations.
