Long Island Man Arrested for Stealing Thousands in Phone Scam
A recent investigation by Suffolk County Police has led to the arrest of Chancellor McKee, a 22-year-old man from Islip, Long Island.
According to authorities, McKee is accused of stealing $2,500 and $4,500 from two Pennsylvania residents in a phone scam scheme.
The stolen funds were transferred into McKee's Coinbase cryptocurrency account on November 12, 2025.
Police said that the victims had fallen victim to a phone scam before the money was transferred into McKee's account.
McKee allegedly withdrew the money from an ATM on Main Street in East Islip on November 23.
