A detailed examination of Ethereum ownership has identified Rain Lohmus as the largest individual holder of Ether (ETH), with approximately 250,000 ETH worth around $530 million.

According to Arkham's report, Lohmus acquired his ETH during the 2014 presale, when the token was priced at around $0.30 per unit. This means that his current holdings represent one of the most successful early investments in cryptocurrency history.
