Ethereum's Glamsterdam Upgrade Enters Advanced Testing Phase
Ethereum's developers are gearing up for a crucial milestone with the launch of Glamsterdam, the next major upgrade for the cryptocurrency. The advanced testing phase is set to begin on April 13, 2026, and will focus on stabilizing ePBS (enhanced Proposer-Builder Separation), a mechanism that splits block production into two coordinated parts.
This update also includes secondary features such as gas fee reorganization and increasing the maximum contract size. The devnet is expected to provide a stable environment for teams to conduct security audits before announcing an official mainnet date.
While regular updates have failed to trigger significant price increases, investors are holding onto hope that Glamsterdam will breathe new life into Ethereum's stagnant price. If successful, the update could strengthen investor and developer confidence, leading to increased adoption of Layer 2 solutions and reduced transaction costs.
