SpaceX Reveals Multibillion-Dollar Bitcoin Holdings

SpaceX has made a significant investment in Bitcoin, with its recent S-1 filing revealing that it holds over $1.45 billion in the cryptocurrency. According to the filing, the company owns 18,712 Bitcoin, valued at an average price of $35,320 each as of March 31.

This is more than double the estimated amount of Bitcoin held by SpaceX, which was previously reported by tracking firms such as BitcoinTreasuries.NET and Arkham. These companies had pegged the company's holdings at around 8,285 Bitcoin, less than half the actual amount.

The disclosure also puts SpaceX ahead of Tesla in terms of Bitcoin holdings, with the electric vehicle company owning 11,509 Bitcoin. Both companies began buying Bitcoin around the same time in early 2021, suggesting a deliberate and long-term strategy to invest in digital assets.
