British Teenager Sanctioned by Russia for Crypto Laundering Report

A 17-year-old British researcher, Alexander Browder, has been added to Russia's sanctions list for his report on cryptocurrency laundering.

The Global Cryptocurrency Laundering Database founder published a report in March that examined 164 crypto laundering cases across 20 years and estimated that about $350 billion in illicit funds had moved through digital assets.

The report found that stablecoins have become increasingly important to criminal groups and hostile governments due to their reduced volatility compared to Bitcoin, allowing them to operate across global crypto rails undetected.
