Grinex Crypto Exchange Suspends Operations After $13 Million Cyber Attack

The cryptocurrency market was hit with another major blow as Russia-linked exchange Grinex suspended its operations following a cyber attack.

According to preliminary data, assets worth 1 billion roubles ($13.10 million) were stolen during the attack, which targeted the exchange's digital infrastructure.

In a statement posted on Telegram, Grinex accused 'foreign intelligence services' of unfriendly states of being involved in the attack. The exchange claimed that the nature and resources used in the attack indicate an unprecedented level of sophistication.
