Andreessen Horowitz Surpasses $115 Million in Midterm Donations
Andreessen Horowitz, a prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has made a significant impact on the 2026 US midterm elections by becoming the largest political donor. According to reports, the firm has directed over $115 million toward election-related activities, with approximately 40% of this amount tied to the cryptocurrency industry.
This is nearly double the amount spent during the 2024 presidential election cycle and highlights a notable shift in campaign finance dynamics. A corporation, rather than an individual billionaire, has emerged as the top election donor, with the bulk of Andreessen Horowitz's contributions funneled through two major Super PACs.
The firm donated $47.5 million to Fairshake, a Super PAC focused on advancing crypto-friendly policies, and $50 million to Leading the Future, an AI-focused Super PAC. These donations are significant as Congress debates comprehensive digital asset legislation, with the 2026 midterms seen as a pivotal moment for the crypto industry.
