Zcash Patch Claim Sparks Speculation on Crypto Market
A patch has been claimed to be deployed on the Zcash network, reversing transactions involving Michael Saylor and Thomas Lee. The claim was made by Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz, but it remains unverified, with no technical documentation or confirmation from the Zcash Foundation or Electric Coin Company.
The move is seen as a response to Bitcoin's current market selloff, with Zcash outperforming BTC. Zcash's price has gained 970% in the last year, while Bitcoin's price has fallen by over 36%. The patch would only be effective if most Zcash nodes and validators ran the patched software.
In related news, Michael Saylor's company, Strategy (MSTR), is facing significant losses due to his decision to sell 32 Bitcoin from their holdings. MSTR's stock has dropped nearly twice as much as Bitcoin's price over the past year.
