$20M Tether Injection Fuels Brazilian Blockchain Ambitions

Tether has invested $20 million in Mercado Bitcoin as part of an initiative to expand blockchain-based financial services throughout Brazil and Latin America.

The investment will accelerate tokenization and blockchain payment infrastructure, with a focus on credit products, lending services, and capital markets expansion.

Mercado Bitcoin, a Brazilian digital finance leader, has evolved from a cryptocurrency trading platform to a comprehensive blockchain financial services provider, supporting over 4.5 million users and facilitating the creation of more than R$2 billion worth of tokenized assets.

Tether emphasized that the funding aligns with its commitment to developing accessible and efficient financial systems in emerging markets with significant growth potential.
