Ethereum Foundation Unveils Ambitious Blockchain Roadmap Through 2029
The Ethereum Foundation has published a detailed roadmap for the development of its blockchain network through 2029. This comprehensive plan is aimed at driving rapid technological advancements and ensuring the network's scalability, speed, and security.
According to the roadmap, known as Strawmap, the team plans to implement seven hard forks approximately every six months. These updates are expected to significantly enhance the network's performance and resilience.
The Ethereum Foundation has set ambitious goals for its development, including reducing transaction finalization times to just a few seconds, scaling Layer 1 to around 10,000 transactions per second, and increasing Layer 2 scalability to millions of transactions per second. Additionally, the team is prioritizing protection against quantum attacks and integrating built-in privacy at the protocol level.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin highlighted that the network will undergo a gradual restructuring and simplification process to enhance its speed and security. This overhaul is expected to position the Ethereum network as a leading force in the blockchain industry, capable of supporting complex applications with ease.
