Chainlink Partners with Bermuda Monetary Authority to Revolutionize Crypto Regulation
Chainlink has made significant strides in promoting regulatory compliance in the crypto industry with its recent partnership with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). The collaboration has led to the development of an embedded supervision solution that ensures real-time, on-chain compliance for digital asset issuance and transfers.
The system integrates four different yet complementary systems, including Bluprynt's Know Your Issuer (KYI) verification and policy logic, Chainlink's Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), Apex Group's validated data, and Hacken's analytics. This integrated approach enables efficient issuance and distribution of regulated digital assets while ensuring supervisory control.
The Embedded Supervision Solution addresses six major supervisory issues identified by the BMA, including the lack of central authority in DeFi, effective AML/KYC under pseudonymity, jurisdictional uncertainty in global flows, the need for real-time monitoring tools, and assessing decentralization in governance. The pilot was successfully deployed on Ethereum's Sepolia and Base Sepolia testnets, demonstrating the effectiveness of the system.
