Buterin: Cryptographic Obfuscation Needs Significant Improvement for Practical Deployment
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, recently shared his thoughts on cryptographic obfuscation. According to him, this technology has the potential to enable highly secure and private blockchain applications with minimal trust by hiding a program's internal logic while preserving its output.
However, he emphasized that current implementations require enormous computing resources and cannot efficiently support stateful applications such as digital money. Researchers are exploring ways to improve performance, but practical deployment is still a long-term goal.
