Brazil's Pix Targeted in US Trade Report, Chile Dismantles $88M Crypto Laundering Ring
A recent US trade report has sparked controversy over Brazil's Pix instant payment system. According to the report, Pix imposes costs on US services providers and forces them to promote their Brazilian competitor without compensation.
The report, published by the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), also mentions other alleged causes of restriction on US commerce, including preferential tariffs, anti-corruption enforcement, intellectual property protection, ethanol market access, and illegal deforestation.
