Two Ohio brothers were sentenced to prison for their involvement in a $19 million fraud scheme that targeted a Chinese cryptocurrency executive and others.
Zubair Al Zubair, 43, received a 24-year sentence while his younger brother Muzzammil Al Zubair, 33, was given 23 years. The brothers were accused of carrying out schemes involving wire fraud, money laundering, bribery, and other offenses.
The U.S. Department of Justice said the defendants must pay about $19.2 million in restitution as part of their punishment.
