Ripple Secures European License for Cross-Border Payments
Ripple has made a major breakthrough in its European expansion efforts, securing a license to provide its crypto-enabled cross-border payment solution across the 27 member states of the European Union. According to Vice President Cassie Craddock, this development marks an important milestone for the company's payment operations and the future utility of its XRP digital asset.
Financial expert Levi Rietveld is bullish on the prospects of Ripple's regulatory approval in Europe, highlighting the enormous scale of the non-cash payments sector in the region. With estimates suggesting that over 116 trillion euros are processed annually through European payment systems, Rietveld believes that Ripple is well-positioned to process significant transaction volumes in the coming years.
Rietveld has linked the expected growth of Ripple's payment infrastructure directly to XRP's long-term valuation, arguing that if hundreds of trillions of dollars move through the XRP Ledger, the digital asset's price could easily surpass $100 per coin. This prediction reflects a common belief among XRP supporters that increased institutional use of Ripple's payment products will lead to higher demand for XRP in cross-border settlement systems.
