Ethereum Claims Top Spot in Blockchain User Retention
A new study by CoinGecko found that Ethereum boasts the highest blockchain user retention rate among major networks, coming in at 26.2% for wallets active in Q1 2025 that remained active in Q1 2026.
This means out of every four wallets actively using Ethereum a year ago, roughly one is still showing up, which may not sound impressive but is actually the best retention rate in the industry.
The study analyzed data from 11 major blockchains and found that while Ethereum's percentage-based retention rate was the highest, its absolute user numbers were dwarfed by BNB Chain and Solana, which retained more users overall.
