Trump Media Eyes Spin-Out of Truth Social Amid Crypto Push
Trump Media and Technology Group is reportedly exploring options to spin out its flagship social media platform, Truth Social, into a publicly traded entity. This move comes as the company continues to expand its presence in the crypto sector, establishing partnerships with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition.
The potential deal would see Trump Media merge with Texas Ventures Acquisition III, a blank check company, which would then take control of Truth Social. The discussions build on the merger agreement signed with TAE Technologies in December, worth more than $6 billion. When closed, this agreement could facilitate the creation of a new public company called SpinCo.
SpinCo shares would be distributed to Trump Media shareholders, allowing them to participate in the growth and development of the social media platform. This move could also enable Truth Social to prioritize its crypto ambitions, which have been expanding rapidly since 2025. The company has established a fintech brand called Truth.Fi to support its crypto products and services.
The deal may also accelerate Trump Media's expansion into the energy sector, as TAE Technologies develops nuclear fusion technology solutions. This move could be significant, given the growing demand for power in artificial intelligence data centers.
