OKX, a global cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding its services in the European Union (EU) by launching financial instrument trading services. The company has secured a MiFID license, allowing it to offer EU users cryptocurrency, commodities, and equity derivatives services.
According to OKX founder Xu Mingxing, the company is pursuing expansion in the EU through institutional-grade risk management, deep liquidity, and the buildout of a regulated digital market. This move is seen as a broader push to expand in the bloc.
The MiFID license will enable OKX to offer European users a wider range of financial instruments, including cryptocurrency derivatives, commodities, and equity derivatives. The company's expansion into the EU regulatory market is expected to broaden trading accessibility and build institutional trust in Europe.
