Bitcoin Price Volatility Amid War Risks and Rate Cut Uncertainty
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a period of volatility due to external factors, with Bitcoin's price currently oscillating around $66,000.
A brief decrease in price over the weekend to $60,000 was attributed to heightened tensions in the Middle East, but it soon returned to its recent trading range. Analysts point out that while the initial drop led to significant long liquidations of approximately $300 million, it was relatively mild compared to previous sell-offs.
Macro factors, including the prolonged expectation of tightening by the Federal Reserve, continue to impact the market. Stephen Coltman, Head of Macro at 21Shares, noted that wars historically have an inflationary effect, driving up commodity prices and widening fiscal deficits. This could potentially complicate the outlook for rate cuts.
