Engineer's $100M Graphics Card Purchase Leads to Crypto Security Solution

Chris Seedor, an engineer, made a costly purchase in 2011. He spent 1,500 BTC on a graphics card, which is now worth tens of millions of euros.

The value of Bitcoin was negligible at the time, and Seedor didn't see much immediate use for it. However, his perspective changed with technological advancements, leading him to design a stainless steel storage solution for seed phrases.

This project evolved into Bitsurance, an initiative that protects assets stored in hardware wallets against real-world incidents like fire, flood, and theft.

Bitsurance is backed by Liberty Specialty Markets, a division of the Liberty Mutual insurance group. This partnership allows the service to offer structured and professional coverage for users who choose self-custody of their assets.
