Visa Tests Private Blockchain Networks for Institutional Stablecoin Settlement

Visa is exploring the potential of private blockchain networks for institutional stablecoin settlement. The company has partnered with Brale, the firm behind the SBC stablecoin infrastructure, and Digital Asset, which developed the Canton Network in collaboration with major Wall Street players.

The proof-of-concept aims to assess whether the Canton Network can support faster, programmable settlement while maintaining strict visibility controls for sensitive information. This could enable large financial institutions to leverage on-chain settlement for stability-focused transactions without exposing transaction details to the broader market.
