Binance Japan Hires Cega Co-Founder Arisa Toyosaki as New Head

Arisa Toyosaki, co-founder of DeFi protocol Cega, has been appointed as the new general manager and representative director of Binance Japan. She takes over from Takeshi Chino, who will transition to honorary chairman and director. This change is set to take effect on July 1.

Toyosaki's background includes working as a derivatives trader at UBS before co-founding Cega. The protocol was acquired after processing around $500 million in trading volume, raising over $9 million in funding, including a seed round valued at $60 million.

The appointment comes amidst Binance Japan's integration with PayPay, Japan's leading mobile payment platform backed by SoftBank. A 40% stake was acquired by PayPay in October 2025, suggesting deeper operational collaboration. Toyosaki will likely focus on accelerating this integration going forward.
