Ethereum's Value Story Remains Elusive Amid Foundation Shake-Up
Ansgar Dietrichs, a former Ethereum Foundation researcher now working at Ethlabs, has admitted that ETH lacks a clear value story after five years of struggling to break $5,000.
This admission comes amidst a broader overhaul at the Ethereum Foundation, which is shrinking and refocusing on censorship resistance, privacy, and open infrastructure.
The lack of a clear value story is not just an issue for investors; it's also affecting the network's adoption. Despite record daily active addresses and smart-contract activity, Ethereum's price has fallen more than 50% from its cycle peak.
Cryptoquant points out that over 32% of ETH's total supply is now locked in staking, creating a fragile environment for short-sellers. This could lead to a squeeze if bearish sentiment continues to be contrarian.
