A group of US nationals and their family members who were victims of Hamas' October 7, 2023, attacks in southern Israel are suing Binance, a global cryptocurrency giant, under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The plaintiffs claim that Binance facilitated and laundered money that helped finance the terrorist attacks. They allege that Binance's founder, Changpeng Zhao, intentionally designed the company to facilitate money laundering on a global scale.
The lawsuit claims that Binance enabled dozens of its customers affiliated with Hamas and other terrorist organizations to execute transactions from IP addresses in the United States, including one in Kindred, North Dakota. The plaintiffs argue that this makes North Dakota an appropriate venue for their case.
