Zondacrypto Faces Scrutiny Over Frozen Withdrawals and Alleged Legislative Interference
Polish cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto is facing increased scrutiny following reports of frozen or delayed customer withdrawals. The company's CEO Przemysław Kral has taken to social media to address concerns, stating that the exchange remains solvent despite a lack of access to a significant portion of its assets.
A 4,500 BTC wallet, valued at approximately $330 million, is currently inaccessible due to missing private keys from the previous owner. Kral claims that this situation is not unusual in the industry and has not affected the company's overall financial stability.
The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, has linked Zondacrypto to allegations of legislative interference, stating that the company had financially backed lawmakers who opposed crypto regulation. This accusation comes as part of a broader controversy surrounding the exchange, which has faced criticism in the past for its business practices and regulatory compliance.
