FBI Director Linked Apparel Store Accused of Pushing Crypto-Stealing Malware
Based Apparel, an online clothing store linked to FBI Director Kash Patel, has been accused of pushing malware that targets session tokens, browser data, and cryptocurrency wallets.
The website was found to be promoting 'ClickFix' infostealer malware on its website, which targeted macOS users. Infostealer malware is designed to silently extract sensitive data from users' devices, with precursors dating back as far as 2006.
It's unclear whether Based Apparel's apparent compromise has resulted in significant losses, but the store's monthly traffic of around 33,600 visits suggests that it could be a concerning issue.
